ntu odac FOOT (freshmen overseas orientation trip) 2009 has officially ended as of saturday, and i can assure you that it's hell lot of fun! my sexy voice (which a lot of ppl laughed at it on sunday when i was in hq. weishen later on told me that it's too sexy for him. LOL) can vouch for that.

for starters, it's the longest camp that i've been to (if i had gone for the 7d6n sports club camp that starts today then it's a different story) and i've went for my very first waterfall trek in malaysia. kept slipping cuz the lousy sandals that don't have good grip and liseng (who walks in front of me) hafta keep checking if i'm alright, especially when we are doing river crossing. was kinda disappointed that Aether (my group) and Ceres (sister group) cannot go up the waterfall, but we had fun at the foot of the waterfall, playing I got peace by the river, How many people standing splash splash and many other games!

personally i find the overseas segment is more exciting than the local segment, probably because we spent 3 days 2nights in wilderness without proper toilet facilities and we get to scream our hearts out without worrying that there would be residents complaining about the noise (campfire went on till 12am plus ok!) and i witnessed extravagant field cooking for the first time! it's not just mess tins, it's indian pots, frying pans and gas canisters! we cooked up a storm with shark's fin soup, french toast and lots of maggie mee! the seniors brought gas canisters for the trek to cook cup noodles ok!

anyway, aether rocks, because we are Most Family (all go gan meh meh), because we won cheer fight, because we cooked up a storm for cooking competition even though our icebox is left back in singapore, because while the other freshies were standing we all sat on our field chairs, because we all have a fan to fan ourselves when the weather is hot and because we are GOD-LIKE (aether is the god of light). :D

i got my maiden dunk into the nanyang lake after supper night on 5th day and it's really crazy ok! i can't struggle back when it's 4 big guys grabbing you by the limbs to throw you in the lake. but it's fun. LOL.

SP (Special Pal) night! the theme is white, thus all of us turned up in all sorts of white we can think up of! there's pe teachers (mainly the freshies who wore white tshirt and white fbt), student (lauren and phy), cooks, lab assistants (ie me in the photo above) and construction worker (or like some biomed lab assistant portrayed by chongyew, one of my GLs, above)

seriously, this SP thingy is really a wacky and kooky thing, because the freshies hafta find their SPs (seniors and usually chosen by the GLs) and we go to extra lengths to ensure that seniors would agree! like liseng who did a song (当你孤单你会想起谁) and a dance (NOBODY!), and perrine who popped the question when she was like about to reach the top on the rockclimbing wall. and sometimes we hafta crap up funny stories, and it totally made the GLs seem as though they are matchmakers. that motivated me to be a GL next year! :D


we performed a skit of many commercials and it's damn funny i tell you. sometimes i'm really awed that we aetherians can come up with such solid stuff in such a short span of time. i kept panicking for cooking competition and the skit ok.

thus i was very very very surprised when Iffah announced that i was the Best Freshie for Aether, because there's people more deserving of the award in the group, eg Jacqueline (who left early cuz she's got fever), or Guo Hua who is like the main guy fixing up the skit and cheers for the cheer fight). if wilmond (who like to step on the elmo faces on my slippers, saying that they will make a sound - ie i will make a sound - when he step on it) ain't the fake freshie i would have suggested him too. i'm just the garang and keesiao (they got totally annoyed by my chinese slang while we were crossing the causeway and on the way back to school and commented i need to calm down while we were walking back to our pelepah campsite after the trek) person in the group. but still, i thank the seniors for the recognition. (:

reached home in the wee hours on sunday and i only went to sleep at 3plus after checking my mails. woke up totally late at 8.41am as a result of a faulty alarm and not notifying my parents that i need to wake up. rushed down to hq and i started coughing badly, thus i napped in conference room during the presentation and forum, so as not to spread the germs to the people in the hall and also to catch up my sleep. for the very first time i didn't join the committee for dinner ok! (went home in my dad's car)

otc has finally came to a semi-close and my weekends are freed up again! but there's still the poc to prepare, and preparation for hall life! and there's gonna be an orientation for the nie freshies next week, which clashes with my hall camp! fyi i'll be in HALL 9! lemme know if you're there too!

anyways i fell kinda sick too. on top of my sexy voice there's sore throat and bad cough. in the noon time i coughed so badly that i nearly vomitted. :x but nvm i got the week ahead to nua! :D and also to pack my room which became a warzone after i came home from camp and otc!
