celine ah! difficult for me not to get distracted eh. and i'm like only 4/11 done with my papers (with paper 3s! grrrrr) and i REALLY want to go for the st john knights thingy. at ISTANA leh! ))))):

anyway. went biking today! been wanting to go biking for SO MANY TIMES but didn't cuz of e bad weather in late afternoons. so i decided to go bike at 1pm! WHEN THE SUN IS THE HOTTEST! great.

turned left instead of right when i was at yishun ave 1 to check out lower seletar reservoir (e sign said so) and i think i went to some work area with a LONGGGGGGGG stretch of road. (i cycled for like 10mins and i'm like barely moved or something) and i saw this gate that said go book in or out at the guard room of khatib camp. EH!

was like almost reaching half of the road when i noticed the conspicuous roof of Grassroots Club! and that club is at YIO CHU KANG leh! then i noticed the condos along lentor avenue. so basically if i continue biking i would reach yio chu kang or something! so cool! but bcuz it's too hot and so long i decided to go back. next time when i have the chance i'll go there again! so cool! :D

okay that aside. the papers haven't been magnificient. totally bombed for physics paper3. a major reason could be that i only realised i got that paper yesterday on sunday night. i left so much blanks i can declare physics U again. worse than junyang la, cuz at least he got S back in jc. (he said sure fail de when i was complaining) YAY.

econs for once i can crap. but i realised i got this weakness for essay cuz i wrote 3pages for 1casestudy and forced 2.5 pages out for the 25-marks essay. chem was still okay but i forgot quite some stuff. and maths! some of the questions seemed so out-of-the-world while some came out in the worksheets and e recent mock test! and i was memorising ARGAND DIAGRAMS like shit. RAHHHH. keynes was like lamenting how he's probably going to see the principal again after the maths paper. ):

tomorrow is da best. gp p1 n p2 in e morning and then chem p1 n p2 in the afternoon. then might as well squeeze maths p2 and physics p1 n p2 on friday la. then i'm free!

but on hindsight. at least i have a four-day weekend, and next week should be free! (aside from the 3papers) cuz e last paper ends on thursday and HOPEFULLY sa has some sense and let e j2s stay at home on friday! but then again. since when sa has some sense eh.

that's about it eh. the thing about me is that i dun like to study in daylight when i was at home. strange trait but it's been there for as long as i remember. that's why i'm always online even though it may be exam period. think i still went online during o's. haha!

ah yes. i like to eat Aladdin brand's ice-cream cone! :D

something is not right. maybe my brain is so overloaded that it's hallucinating.

Rules of the game:

Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about you.

People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly.

At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tag-backs!

1. uhhh. same as yy leh. i like to daydream! :D
2. uhh. this is definitely different from yy. i'm in a confused state about myself sometimes. =p
3. i like to collect weird things like receipts, birthdates (to compile into a year!), ic or ezlink photos!
4. i like to act cool when i'm alone. =p
5. i think i can say i've never watched a horror movie before. the omen is more like a thriller right?
6. i like to listen to 青春有活力的歌 when i'm going to school/go out and then emo songs when i go home.
7. UHHH. i love to play online games!
8. i'm still trying to entertain with the whole idea of 独立
9. uhhhh. i like shaker fries! yesyes.
10. people say i'm a paedophile! i think i'm ABIT la. :D

YY! your answers gave me a lot of inspirations. haha! =p

Tag six people: uhh. dunno la. i think my circle of friends are like almost all been tagged and then many of the rest are all busy mugging. so dun tag lor. i'm so nice eh. :D

OHMY!

changed the skin twice in the past few days eh. was trying to find one that totally depicts SUMMER! cuz i fell in love with the whole idea of summer recently. when the holiday is about to end eh. how apt. =x

I NEED SOMEONE TO MONITOR ME TO STUDY! goodness. planned to be done with the GP compre by now and i'm just starting! blame it on the excessive time spent on physics and talking nonsense to peijun at amk macs and messaging abit with qingjun and jiaqing to talk some stuff. ahhhhhhhhh! gonna chiong later. i'll finish it tonight!!! I WILL! brrr.

ohyes i've watched KINSHIP! ohyeahohyeahohyeah! jesseca rocks my socks! her new image is totally what i like mann! peijun said she's more feminine and i'm like DUH. maybe i should grow my hair to the same length that she have in the show! :DDD

yy! I MISS MY BROTHER OKAY. i'm like the darkest in the family when he's in tekong! LOL. and YOU're the little girl okay. i look more like a 14/15-yr-old teenager! :D

give me something to believe in

8:52 PM

Saturday, June 16, 2007

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

my brother is finally at tekong!

i think it will take me like another day or so before i would really miss his presence at home! blame it on him going for so many overseas trips in the past 4-5 weeks la. =p and he's in school 1 Falcon company section 3! (dunno which platoon)

anyway. yesterday dined at AMK Hub's Fish & Co. before my brother went over to the QB House nearby to shave his hair! hehehe. but it's not the shortest that i've ever seen though. cuz it doesn't sting as much when i play with his hair! haha. and my mum's funny. when she was giving some toiletries to my brother, she said i've bought you a new comb and my brother's like i'm going to be botak no need comb la. lol!

kissing fish! :D

please call me mr cool eh. (:

squidy! :D

then today reached pasir ris bus interchange kinda on time! BUT! kinda got advised about our attire cuz all of us wore like berms, and then me and my younger brother wore slippers too! but when we were at tekong, saw others who wore shorts AND slippers too. so yeah. not exactly a big deal. =p

so just went around the place and saw many recruits training. okay it's bad to say this but i think some of their drills really CMI. i saw one like just walking when others are marching la. tsktsk. ohyes their track makes me wanna run! lol.

and then i was thinking. if i join the army, maybe six to seven years later when my younger brother goes tekong and i'm accompanying him, maybe some of the commanders would call me as Ma'am and that would certainly be damn cool! hahah. but the odds of me going army is really small la. thought of this cuz a few days ago i told alastair and fabian that i considered joining army before and alastair said i can be medic. lol!

seriously, i think the soldiers are like having a good life la. got new backpack (okay it's armygreen), new sports shoes (newbalance leh!), all the accessories, especially the HYDRATION PACK! i'm like OHMYGOSH when the guy doing the talking showed us that they got this carrier thing where there is this compartment to hold the hydration pack. and it's THREE LITRES! and there's the raincoat that i want! but it's not sold in tekong eh. cost like 100bucks at Beach Road. =x

well, they are sacrificing their two years. but still. i think they have good stuff and that's on top of good food and some money eh. if you ask me, i think i wouldnt mind going NS too. hahah.

then went to auditorium for the presentation and then the affirming of allegiance. cool eh! after that 'picked up' my brother (they were standing outside in two lines to wait for us to join them and head for the dining area). lunched. was okay. after that jiu headed home le.

ohyes. saw a few not-bad-looking guys over there! the best one that i've seen was sitting at the table in front of mine when we were waiting for the buses to go over to the auditorium. he was eating and JUST NICE sat facing me! hehehehe. and there's this guy (visitor) who got like turquoise painted nails! totally OMG cann. and there's this two enlistees who got really THICK LONG hair and another one who wore like branded long-sleeved shirt and pants la! (looks branded to me. lol)

saw quite a number of planes today! nice nice. kinda envy my ex-nyjc classmate renjie who claimed that he can like see the Changi Airport control tower from where he lives la. that means he could have seen quite a number of planes flying by everyday! gosh.

tomorrow going Red Rain concert! (:
p.s. i think Wild Rockets is such a cool restaurant! and Wild Oats the bar beside it! makes me wanna go cooking! (:

was blog-hopping around just now and read through some of the blogs that i haven't been to for like ages. i realised how much time has gone by since the last time we've ever met or ever talked. and those were the people whom i've been through quite some stuff together, be it good or bad. and then i thought of the stuff that just shot out of my mouth, blah blah blah.

well, what's meant to be, will be.

i really like staying up to study and watch tv eh. now watching 娱乐百分百 while typing this entry and trying to revise my maths for the mock test on friday. i think the guy damn zai in playing the bball machine la. he scored like 200++ points in 60secs! OMG. and yet he didnt win the challenge. apparently the top scorer scored 1461 points in 7mins.

and milk is a good drink when you feel hungry in the middle of the night. meiji chocolate milk not bad eh! :D

i need to curb my relapses of emo-ness cuz it's obviously not healthy. instead of studying i'm staring at my laptop for 2hours. huh.

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

hmmm. sounds kinda chim.

anyway i've been procrastinating so much that i think i'm gonna screw up again. sheesh. need to get away from the laptop like real soon. and stop going out so much. but i enjoyed myself at the Rovers campfire on saturday! had fun with e scouts cubs rovers and my fellow ventures xiuxian shaun derrick chinhao (and shanhong who left before e campfire)! and i got a new camera yesterday! (when we're supposed to find alarm clock for my 2nd brother. HAHA)

initially my dad wanted to get me a sony cybershot cuz i've been gushing about how PRETTY and NICE those cameras are since eons ago. wanted to get the T20 cuz it seems cheap (599bucks with 8.1 mega-pixels and 3x optical zoom) but my dad think that e T100 seems nicer with 8.1mega-pixel and 5x optical zoom even though it's 100bucks more, cuz to him e price is not as important as the quality of the camera.

then e salesgirl showed us this cool Samsung camera which also has mp3 and mp4 feature that attracted my eldest brother. but it didn't appeal to me. and then it's e Canon Digital IXUS. finally decided to get that cuz the salesgirl said that they print photos of better quality, it's cheaper, Canon is more user-friendly and e cameras that i have at home are all Canon. so goodbye to Sony Cybershot and hello Canon Digital IXUS. (:

went for my 2nd brother's graduation ceremony at Ngee Ann today. before that had lunch and ate at Island Creamery! mudpie! yays. j'adore mudpies! :D

and of course my grandma's handmade dumplings! they are really yummy! :D

i'm staying at home with my grandparents from tomorrow till thursday and i wonder if i should go clubbing with shaun xiuxian chinhao and e others who might go. huh. but i'm going broke and i'm gonna join them straight from school after the chemistry extra lessons. and then belynda said it might become a study session. huh.

and apparently danish adores belynda and mervyn SOOO deeply that he kept saying belynda isn't my gf haha and he'll take revenge on me for poking mervyn so much. cute eh.

sometimes i think i'm still thinking too much. things just like to pop out of nowhere and made me think think think when i do know that i'm just wasting my time. but aiya heck, those things will just go away after a while. after all, some of them are just relapses that don't exactly hurt. and they make me happy sometimes. (:

so sorry eh. you've all known me to be so long-winded. hehehe. so here's a pretty short one cuz i need to go off soon.

one week has just gone by like that. last week around this time the planning comm was probably still having the meeting/debrief with the rovers while feeling pretty tired from the day's events. it seemed almost just yesterday that we've ended camp. how time flies. and how amazing the cosy feeling is still within me.

these past few days have been pretty much of school-going. for remedials and quiz. and ponning one of them on wednesday. heheh. you can never limit the amount of time for shopping. at least 2hrs wouldn't be enough, especially when you have a willing party for us to dress up! eugenia and i had so much fun deciding on what clothes mervyn should try wearing and managing to persuade him to wear clothes that made him go OMG.

but seriously, he can wear almost EVERYTHING! good thing about being tall and having some sort of body. both of us were kinda amazed that he wasn't as lanky as we thought he is. :D and the neoprints were great too! we're just TOO CUTE! :DD

today's school seminar sessions with pastor joakim were great too. glad that i've stayed for both sessions cuz they were inspiring, especially the quotes. like the one from Mother Theresa:

we are called every day to do small things with great love.

amazing. and the people were nice too. like laming around with jordan, getting to know roy, rachel (e friend jeremy brought along), the 14yrold kid who was with yvonne.char and many others! and the night view from 12th storey of Singpost were marvellous.

today would be a great day too, cuz i'll be meeting up some ventures and rovers! yay. :D

life goes on, and hopefully i wouldn't fall into the same trap again.

this is the first time that i got SOOOOOOOOOOOO many mosquito bites in my life. not even when i was at pulau ubin for the obs mobile course 4years ago. HUNDRED OVER bites leh. now my arms and legs looked terrifying. =x

anyway. group camp'07 has its ups and downs in the duration. from the miscommunication to glitches in the execution of plans and seeing the cute cub scouts again to taking care of the cubs and scouts. (and i decided to write everything down after so many editing. haha)

first two days were at Pulau Ubin and we called it Lost... At Nibu Island. the Nibu island came about during the first meeting when we were deciding on the theme and it just got to me that to reverse Ubin and thus Nibu. and the planning comm are supposed to be the Nibites (the costume is the Shrek ears!) and shaun Captain Emo while the participants are the researchers who boarded the submarine (bumboat actually) for some exploration. my patrol is the Singaporeans with me as the leader and the other patrol is the Malaysians. my patrol consisted of jeremy tzewei grace mervyn derrick. and they are a bunch of funny people! like derrick who loves climbing trees! they called me the turtle cuz of my hydration bag under the poncho looked like a green shell (it rained during the station games). and hunch-backed. =x but the 龟帮 (my sect cuz i'm the patrol leader) was a great group nonetheless! :D

eka shanhong joined us in the evening and we did backwoodsman cooking. was interesting cuz i've never done cooking without mess tins solid fuels etc and eating without the utensils! thankfully e rovers brought a bamboo back and we got chopsticks from cutting the bamboo! and it was a full moon night! enjoyed it. but too bad the stars weren't as much as what we've seen as desaru. then did reflections when i was talking too loudly (shaun david.wong were suaning me about the loudness of my voice during debrief lor) and then lights out for the participants and debrief for planning comm. started to pack up after that and thus didn't sleep. thank goodness there's the hidden package of food from belynda. oreos! (:

then had e fast march where grace supposedly went missing. then e solo night walk to merdah hut and then e doubles night walk up to e quarry. soon after everyone got there it was time to cook for the v1s. initially i just wanted to sleep and not to help out, but since the rest of the planning comm went up, i followed them up after all. and it was a good decision, cuz the scenery from the top of the quarry is BEAUTIFUL. and everyone was dozing off so i kept talking (no wonder xx said i talked non-stop) i suaned david wong from being so high. (he said he drank milk) the porridge was so delicious and i wanted to eat it all by myself. =p

then it was breakfast time and then heading back to the jetty. fast-marched with david wong at a point of time (he helped me carry my shoe bag and first aid kit) and i called him 黄ah pek cuz he called xiuxian Lee ahma. he called me chong ahma when we were at Kallang ssc. lol. back at singapore, wanted to put on my contacts but realised i've dropped my right eye contact when i took them off while at quarry in the dark. so suay! and my newly-bought hydration pack burst on e first day! thank goodness elizabeth lent me hers.

then dragonboating at Kallang SSC. zhengyang siewjing joined us and we had quite some fun. the instructor wore super high fbt that fitted so tightly. OHMANN. maybe i should consider dragonboating as a cca in uni. heh. then we headed for Camp Christine, where e scouts and cubs were at! many people slept along the way and i only slept when we were reaching soon. lol.

set up the tents and then had pioneering. after that is announcing the patrols for the amazing race for the next day. got into patrol 2 (e tiger patrol) which was called Big Mac. and there was another patrol called Chicken McNuggets. lol. my patrol's kids are funny okay. got this assistant sixer who kept shouting molest when i hit him and when i didn't even touch him at all. derrick (v1) even mimicked him la! ha. then another cub gavin who gave me some sentosa pass and told me some stuff, like a fellow patrol member who had diarrhoea and passed motion outside their tent and attracted many flies. and a scout bryan who looked well like a cub cuz of his height. =p and a cub jasper who thought that i looked like secondary 2 or 3. hehe. =D

had water bomb game with them and then reflections later on. joined the v1s as they had their interviews with david wong shaun xiuxian alfred. took several photos, such as mervyn in his shrek hairband. lol! managed to have some sleep for like 4 hours. and that's how much i've slept for the whole camp.

then it's e amazing race. it was great, like knowing my patrol better (like a cub, joisah who was supposedly to be scared of me but got enticed by my sweets. :D) and realising they were more well-travelled than i do. though some had some sort of attitude problems but it wasnt too bad. they kinda got more obedient cuz i was feeding them with sweets. hehe. got to know my v1 chinhao better. he's another big glutton along with mervyn! always hungry. haha. it started smoothly with us getting to the stations quickly. but we were damn suay to get changi chapel-botanic gardens combo. took us three hours in total and we didn't even get to reach the botanic gardens. bleah. at least we managed to get back on time!

campfire was alright. and i think my patrol's skit was one of the funniest. hehe. joisah looked so cute when he acted as the innocent kid who thought that the fly whose wings, legs and head got plucked out was a raisin! hehe. and then it was e cubs investiture.

after that it's e world scout badge test for the v1s. ate some nice food as we ironed and sewed badges on the uniforms. that took like nearly the whole night. then had exco elections where grace became the interim chairlady. built the flag mast and thankfully some scouts helped out. like alastair who helped us to build for the whole night, cuz all e ventures except me fell asleep, and there were also weihao david.wong who did the finishing touches to the flag mast.

then it was the rehearsals for the investiture. me minqi siewjing were the colours party (me e prep pennant, minqi the troop flag and siewjing the unit flag). did okay-ly, even though there was a glitch when i rose the prep pennant for the first time. opps. had scouts investiture too. then took group photo! then it was the great clearing up, which was as hiong as last year, cuz there was simply too many barang barang to do. after all, we had e entire scout group down, from the cubs to the guild (should be eh?).

back at sajs, after some simple packing up, we had the prize ceremony for the amazing race. Big Mac got second! yay. then had debrief for the entire ventures where we reflected on the good and bad points of camp. got the group photo which david elizabeth rushed out while we were cleaning up. went to macs with shaun mervyn eugenia chinhao derrick while waiting for my dad to drive me home. met some fellow saints. and i got my wish of eating Long John Silvers! (:

and this is the first time that i've slept through more than 12hours after my first asjab camp when i was sec1. i was using the laptop until like 5pm and i decided i need to sleep. then i slept until like 9 this morning. probably because i've only slept for like 4hours in total during the entire camp. i was right that i would sleep for less than 10hours for the camp after all. =p

basically, this camp gave me fond memories which i would always remember, just like how Group Camp 2006 has given me (i regretted not being able to attend e entire camp), and i want to come back for group camp'08 and the many more camps to come. cuz i love this cosy feeling of being with the entire scout group and not just with my fellow ventures. cuz there's always some void when you're not with the entire huge family. but nevertheless, our bonds would still stay, just like this camp's theme - One Family Unbroken.

the v1s are funnay people. like the two boys chinhao derrick who love to blow out my candle during the candlefight and bullying me other occasions, mervyn whom i bully and who bullies me back, eugenia whom i shared the common interest of the cute cub scouts and grace who's damn zai with using e GPS machine and still came for the entire camp even though she was feeling kinda sick. they are amazing. and i'm glad that i'm in the same group with almost all of them. (:

(mervyn me eugenia. one of e few people not sleeping on the bus, other than e rovers. and i'm wearing the Shrek ears actually. =p)

and my fellow v2s. we're like under constant pressure to execute the plans properly and hafta handle the kids along with the rovers while we bring them out for amazing race. but we had fun on the dragonboat and from the lil' things. love the girls the most! ms LEEXX who were very helpful while we were at pulau ubin and who slogged her heart out doing the proposal and doing so many things by herself, and being one of the two logistics ic for the first two days. you are the SUPERWOMAN! :D belynda who helped us got SOOOOO many things before coming over on wednesday. without her many things wouldnt have been done. like the wonderful iron and the hidden package under the digestive biscuits and the v1 contacts. YOU ROCK! :D plus minqi siewjing who are e dedicated food ics who ensured that we are fed properly. even though they were part of a planning committee for the first time, i would say they had done it pretty well. good job girls. (:

and the boys. alfred who was under the massive pressure along with xiuxian to plan e whole thing and taking over shaun as the commander for the investiture and one of e campfire emcees. even though he's very tired, he still pressed on. like what he said during the second night's reflections, it's only a matter of your choice whether you would enjoy yourself during the activities. shaun who made me really reflect about the role and attitude that i'm supposed to take on during the camp. he's truly an inspiring chairman, a feature whom david said a chairman should have. i'm glad that he has become the chairman after all, though last year i thought he was better off being the vice-chairman. yubin the treasurer who did a lot of saikang handling the logistics along with xiuxian. like shaun, i was also very glad that he has joined the exco as the treasurer this year, cuz he has the commitment and passion to do so. as for luke, even though i didn't have much to say, but i would still thank him for trying to keep me awake by irritating me constantly on the third night, and doing the saikang work of contacting the v1s. and i dun get angry easily after all you know. ha.

for the rovers, thanks to david.wong steph.bay who were with us throughout the whole camp, especially david.wong who overlooked the whole event and like to suan us sometimes. felt kinda humourous when i was fast-marching with him as we headed for the jetty. like lil' kids trying to compete. ha. and tying the flag mast along with me weihao alastair while the other ventures fell asleep at around 4am in the morning. and kenneth who was my patrol leader at camp christine. helped to take care of the kids and came up with the hilarous skit for the cubs and scouts to perform during campfire. the v3s steph.seow elizabeth weishan who gave helpful comments through the emails during the planning stage. and the other rovers like clement who taught me yubin shaun alfred about some knots required to build the flag mast before we headed for camp and letting me get a cold drink during the second night.

this project was e biggest project i've ever undertaken and took the most amount of timing planning. my email inbox's messages expanded from like 700 messages to 850 over messages in the short span of 3weeks or so. and most of the emails are sent at night, meaning we had stayed up late at night to do the ammendments etc. not to mention the meetings that we had to settle certain issues. and running all over the place to locate the things that we would need for the camp. it's very tiring, but it made us get to know each other better.

Venturing was something that i've never thought of before going for last year's VOPF, and it gave me mixed feelings throughout this one year. it's coming to an end soon, and i'm glad that it's ending off on a happy note. whether i'm coming back next year as a rover remains a decision yet unknown, and i hope that i wouldn't be regretting it.

Venturing is what you make it to be.
