came back from Aquila Ventures Group Camp'06!

actually, i'm having mixed feelings about coming back to Singapore from Desaru, Malaysia. i'm glad that i'm back cuz i'm back to civilisation where there's good food, internet connection and phone connection. but i miss the countless number of stars that decorates the Desaru night sky. on the first night that i've arrived at the campsite, i was gushing about how pretty the night sky was and the rest who came on the first day was like i've already seen it for the past 2 days le. lol.

speaking of the campers, the V1s who camped over is a bunch of fun people! with the exception of one, that is. my fellow VBC-ers should know who i'm refering to. =D

and some of the cub scouts (e primary school kids) are so CUTE cann! and very nice too. hehe. like glenn, who's one of the emcees for the campfire, joshua (he's only primary 4 and he has a husky voice lo) and danish who acts like a chao ah beng. lol! while on the bus ride to the campsite on saturday some of them were REALLY noisy sia! kept on attacking on nasu. lol!

saturday was not bad, doing station games, doing the World Scout Badge test, trekking/running (cuz zheyin led us and according to the V2s, he runs 20km per week cann! siao) and i was 'kidnapped' by zijie. then had solo night walk into the abandoned building beside the campsite, which i think is a flight park.

yesterday had investiture for the ventures unit and had station games too. grouped up with nasu and some scouts and cub scouts. played 2 games by the beach. the sea is really clear lor! and i enjoyed e sea really much. haha. tried attacking zijie who was playing the same game at another side but my water bomb didn't work. lol. then while waiting for david (e troop leader)'s station, went back to the sea again. lol. got this little cub scout whom we call beckham kept losing his shoes de. damn funny lo. then got another cub scout whom we call cobra cuz he wore a tshirt with a pop-out cobra. lol.

after playing in e sea was outdoor cooking, and it rained lo! initially was for a while only, but later on it rained like crazy! we held out for a while (some were still cooking) before we chionged into e hangar. in e hangar also start to flood a bit cuz water is coming in from some place. then we tried to get e water out asap while me and zijie were opening cans of baked beans, sardines and mushrooms to feed the scouts and cub scouts. we even resorted to eating uncooked sausages and instant noodles as mamee noodles. ewws.

but eventually, e adult leaders and volunteers gathered e french fries, instant noodles and sausages and cooked for us. it's as though like refugee camp lo. haha! but it was really memorable, just like zijie who said that it's through suffering that people would remember it more bahh.

after that was washing up (washed all the utensils like crazy before and after e mass cooking) and preparing for campfire. it was not bad, and the night sky is very pretty! lol.

after that played a game and then had Chairman elections, which bryant got it. then had mee goreng as supper. after supper the VBC is supposed to have a committee meeting, but got an extra person there so cant talk. lol. and we ended up sleeping there. but eventually only left with me shaun xingzhi alfred. and we moved over to the hangar at 5am plus cuz e beach is really cold. slept until 7 liddat.

then today, aka CUSTOMS DAY, had cub scouts investiture and packing up. while on e bus back to singapore, the scouts gone mad with the VERY GOOD thingy. they changed e lyrics of songs into just VERY GOOD and they sang for like an hr lor. then they moved on to Bangla-ing. (they even got very good-ism and bangla-ism. lol. was awake throughout the whole trip to e customs lo.

unloaded e stuff back in SAJS and went over to SAJC to take some stuff. saw council having LTC and i kinda missed e councillor days. oh wells. hmm. then had dinner with charissa at Macs and went home with nasu.

and yar, we set up a VBC, aka Ventures Bitching Club, on 4th June 2006, Sunday, with shaun as the Chairman, charissa as Vice-Chairman, xiuxian as Secretary, bryant as Treasurer, me as Quarter-mistress (logistics as in gathering gossip. lol), alfred as Quarter-master, yubin xingzhi as Honorary Members and we might rope in xinle. lol! we already got 3 topics to bitch about lo. hehe.

so basically, Group Camp'06 is fun and i got to know my fellow v1s and v2s better. looking forward to next year's Group Camp! hehes.
