ended Pirates Ventura Orientation Finale camp today! super siao lar. e overnight hike can kill!! =x
Anyways, for once i was rather early in reaching the meeting place Lavender MRT station lar. and i jio-ed joel not to pon the kayaking trip. heh. after reaching, i hid at one corner of the MRT station cuz i dunno the people who gathered at the travel shop outside lar. =x den got this 3 guys who seem to notice me after crossing the ticket barrier there. think they're going for the camp too bahh. and one of them was wearing the white tshirt with one orange stripe at each shoulder (think it was some sports biathlon or triathlon tshirt) which i think Mr Sim have worn before bah. hmms.
then fangyi came along and we waited for her friend to come. to my surprise, her friend turned up with louisa and another sajc girl! turned out that her friend, charissa, is actually from the same secondary school with louisa!
then we went to join the rest outside the travel shop. after a while joel came along. we soon set off for Kallang Sea Sports Club at 9 plus. was taught about the basics of kayaking before going onto the water. saw the canoeing ppl there. hanming's biceps is so erm~ crazy lar. haha.
paired up with joel and just went around the water doing the basic strokes. tried capsizing drill too. after that we're supposed to be divided into two groups and have a tug-of-war with david, our instructor cum one of the Adult Leaders of Aquila Ventures, 's kayak. when we were grouping up, saw e same 3 guys whom i've seen earlier at one side by themselves. so i said they're isolating themselves and thus kinda started in bickering with one of them, the one who wore white YJC tshirt (i tot it was CJC tshirt initially. doinks). later during self-intro while on e way to The Merlion found out that his name is zhengyang, aka mary. haha.
while waiting for our turn for capsize drill, chatted with one guy who was on a single kayak and found out that he graduated from SAJC in 2003! same as Mr Sim. wows. and he's from VENN okay! (his class is 02s14) heh.
after practising at the Kallang River (is so dirty lar) till 12.30pm liddat, got onshore and prepared for the trip down to The Merlion! hehes. got split up into groups and my new partner is Emmeline, who's one of e V2s (e J2s are called V2s and J1s V1s).
at The Merlion, took pictures! then the people/tourists on the Duck Tours took pictures of us! after all, you don't see a fleet of kayaks on Singapore River on a regular basis you know. =D
after taking pictures had lunch! first time eating on sea and kayak! so shuang lar. haha. but the chicken rice not so nice. lol.
then at the bridge which is directly facing the Merlion, we got shuffled around and some of us got new partners. then some of us hafta stand on e kayaks, some is even both people on the same kayak lar! =x
then at the last bridge before heading onshore, we played Captain's Ball! so cute cann. and my group won! =D
after that we're divided into 2 groups again and we're supposed to race to one point. david suggested a way for my group to be faster, but the other group is faster lo. and my group ended up breaking raft. ha. and fangyi + joel's pairing on the kayak is funny sia. cuz they cant coordinate well initially. lol.
after getting onshore, cleaned e paddles and buoyancy vests, followed by the kayaks. then showered. after that we waited for some of the V2s who were having their 3-star course. chatted with the 3 YJC guys along with charissa fangyi. also chatted with joel louisa linna (e sajc girl). had to call SPH regarding The Big Walk but e person in charge cannot be contacted. siann.
after that headed back to SAS. was sian diao when e 3 YJC guys + joel + louisa were considering whether to go for the hike anot lar. while on the bus, found out the last YJC guy's name (i found out another YJC guy's name earlier on: Eka): shanhong. i only got it right after the second time when i asked him after we were grouped to hunt for our dinner. =x
upon reaching SAS, e 9 of us (linna left) scouted around SAS for a while before heading for the JC section. the time we took is more than e 10 mins that one of e V2s (he was called chicken little) had told us lar.
when we were walking back, saw him and we tot that he's gonna scold us liddat. but he said he was abt to go over to look for us, but we just nice ended up at the point where we're supposed to start our next activity: orienteering. changed into shoes before that.
played around with the compasses and learned abt bearings and pacings. after that got grouped up with shanhong joel to hunt for dinner. walked thru e SAS canteen, up to the band room, then to the round area at 2nd level near the canteen. found pieces of paper that wrote some food which was our dinner. ha.
headed to the Aquila Ventures room after that. saw this really ancient TV there!
then after the rest came back, we started taking photos!

i personally like the lighting at the area there lar. soo nice. and the room is really secluded sia. haha.
went to play block catching around SAS while waiting for the food. me charissa louisa din get caught! =D
then we sat around and chatted. then got food! so nice. but somehow i ended up cooking stingrays. STINGRAY rocks cann! and shanhong was bbq-ing the chicken wings. some are good! hehs.
then e 3 of us (me fangyi charissa) started trying to convince the guys to stay lar. cuz e 3 YJC guys say that tmr they got fren's birthday party to attend so they not going e hike and joel felt tired so if the 3 guys leave he'll leave. and if e 4 guys leave yixiang would probably leave too.
took really a long time lar. learned about Aquila Ventures's dance which was rather hot~ we girls dun dare to do lar. but luckily my partner is joel. phew. and he got really on doing the steps cuz he's really tired and wanted to complete it asap (it was arnd 11pm plus then)
but well, the guys stayed in the end! yay. haha. but the sadd thing is that we got split up into 2 groups! my group is: joel zhengyang eka yixiang while e other group is: fangyi charissa louisa shanhong. i'm e only girl in my group while shanhong is e only guy in e other group. lol.
(me and zhengyang. i was trying to do the dao look. haha. while on e train back home today, he say i look like a MUGGER while wearing the specs and shanhong even agrees with him lar. WHERE GOT LOOK LIKE MUGGER?)
my group's first checkpoint is Kallang Riverside Park, but we stopped near the Kallang Basin. did a task of forming Aquila Ventures using shoelaces. then we're supposed to find our next place using e clues. we said Muslim Cemetry quite earlier on but they said no. gahh! wasted 20 mins. so walked hurriedly down. at the Muslim Cemetry (which was at Bugis)'s bus-stop, sang song. haha.
then headed for Supreme Court. tyco-ly guessed correctly lar. and we were quite tired by then. and zhengyang eka were like kept talking about clubbing lar. -.-
at there took pictures. ha. david's voice is really hoarse mann. ha. and we saw e stage for the Labour Day concert which i think is happening now. they're wasting the lights back then lor. and got ppl queueing up le lor! but i think is quite cool for david to stand on e road and take pics lar. cool mann.
did a task where someone blindfolded is supposed to eat something. zhenyang got blindfolded but he ate it anyway. it was some kind of egg and it smelt like duck lar! and it was really nice. me and zhengyang were like saying it's soooo nice and i went on saying i like duck rice. hehes. =D
skipped a checkpoint upon completing the task. headed for Pearl's Hill City Park where e V2s are not sure of the place lor. so i was saying to joel that i fully realised e meaning of e phrase nothing is here by chance. i mean, if i didn't go for the SSC Selection Camp, would i have known there's such a place called Pearl's Hill City Park? i bet we would have gone round and round SGH like wad e other group did. lol.
and i finally stopped smsing. has been smsing quite much with a guy whom i've sent a message wrongly to. somehow can just talk. started at arnd 1am plus and think ended at around 4am plus. then went to check his Friendster profile just now and was erm.. ah wells. jc and ite don't really mix i guess. =x
and while walking to Pearl's Hill City Park, we were walking towards Maxwell Food Centre when e majority of my group saw something shocking: they saw GAYS kissing while walking! i didn't see it cuz i was looking down and only heard one guy saying Why so late havent go home? as he pointed to his watch (i didnt even see his face lar). i missed something nice lar! lol.
but it's really crazy man. along e way to Pearl's Hill, we saw really a good deal of gays lar. i even saw one pair who were holding hands and walking into one corner of the void deck of a HDB flat. so i said they're heading to make out. doinks.
then headed straight for Harbourfront. walked like 20+ mins when Outram Park MRT station is just 1 stop away from Harbourfront MRT station??
but we pressed on. after reaching Harbourfront, we headed for Sentosa. rested while the V2s paid for the entry tickets. e other group reached too, but they din pay for the ticket cuz they went in by the sorta hidden pedestrian way. doinks. then we walked on to the entrance. joel even took off his sandals lar.
then we met up with the other group. louisa's so hyper lar! both of us ran down a slope where a strap on my bag broke. sian diaooo. but never mind. at least sorta caught the sunrise. ha. learnt something new from david. he said the lights on the ships wun be switched off until the sun has fully risen.

we took lotsa photos around. i took quite a number of pictures of people sleeping. hehes. but somehow zhengyang can hear the sound when i switched on my camera in my handphone. doinkss.

headed to Harbourfront for breakfast. louisa left first for church. went to Macs. after eating some of e guys started sleeping lor. deiaoo. we were given a packet of 铁蛋 which was bought by one of the Adult Leaders in Taiwan (e eggs that smelt like duck). me and zhengyang finished them all cuz e rest dun wan eat. forced zhengyang to eat e last one. haha.

we left the place at arnd 9 plus. when we were reaching e escalator down to the MRT station, saw A²! haha. was really surprised lar.
then shanhong recognized A² as the person he saw in my phone. he say not bad lor. hehe. and i was like hopping around after going down the escalator that the rest of e ppl say i siao. fangyi say i more 走火入魔 than her. lol.
then in e train we all started sleeping. haha. i woke up at Sembawang after changing train lor. =x
went to sleep at 12pm and woke up at 6 plus for dinner. gahh.
overall, i think this camp is fun!! though i think i complained a lot during the hike. sorry to joel who hafta keep listening to my complaints.
and my skin hurts! too much sun le. =x
should i join Aquila Ventures?
